Mid-Atlantic Pro Rodeo Finals 2010
We are ending the 2010 season and putting together our Finals. We are auditing points and working out sponsor arrangements. The Mid-Atlantic Finals Rodeo will be held after the first of the year. To compete in this event and have a chance to win the coveted title of East Coast World Champion, contestants must be one of the Top 10 contestants and have competed in a minimum of 6 rodeos in their event.
We will also crown a rookie in each event, if there is one, a finals winner in each event, and of course the coveted title of ... Mid-Atlantic East Coast World Champions in each event, along with the Prestigious All Around Cowboy and the All Around Cowgirl ........... with hand made trophy buckles and trophy saddles. All 2010 awards will be presented at our MAPRA Awards Banquet. Date and location TBA. All dates and details will be available after the end of the year.
2010 Review....................Thanks for a great year!
This has been a stellar season with big crowds and good weather most of the time.
We have all surely felt the crunch of the economy, traveling has cost too much and so has everything else,
but there was a lot of money won in our arenas and hopefully you got some of it. Everybody has worked hard and we had a great year for the fans, the crowds were huge for the committees and I know they did well.
On the back side, with the price of diesel fuel, repairs, insurance, Vet work, labor, prize money and feed, it was really a job to stay in the confines of the contracts and have enough money to keep it all in the road.
Raising the prices on committees was not a consideration. They would have just not had a rodeo! We are indeed grateful for all we have with so many folks struggling, but it has been a constant challenge! This has certainly been a real education for all of us!
We strive this coming year to keep the prize money good and the rodeos classic. We are blessed with the best people on earth in this association and there is a ton of pure rodeo talent right here. It is an honor to
represent you and you have no idea how proud we are of your accomplishments and of your character. We work daily to achieve the necessary changes and task needed to keep these rodeos the best possible in all aspects.
We are looking forward to 2011, let’s hope it is easier than 2010 was and we can all take a deep breath and leave the stress of the recession behind us!
Our thanks goes out for your dedication, understanding , patience and support during this extremely difficult and complicated year.
Looking for a tremeodous, prosperous and exciting 2011 Season,
Katherine Harris, President
